The tags on both mattresses actually instruct to remove the outer cover and machine wash cold and dry on gentle air cycle. Purchased two for my kids . Never thought it was the bed till now. What you can do is take a dark clothing and use flashlight on dark and if you see shining particles is Fiberglass. I notice itching and never knew what was causing it.. Purchased Zinus 12 Performance Plus/Extra Firm Spring Mattress, King from Amazon on June 16th, 2017. As for mattresses, the commission says its important to follow manufacturers instructions for washing and drying the mattress pads. To say a mattress can ruin your life is an understatement. This is a SERIOUS issue, especially because our Zinus mattress tags actually tell us to remove the outer cover and wash it!!! The suit alleges defective design once the cover is removed exposing the glass fibers potentially causing personal injury and property damage. Not a happy mom that I have glass fibers all over me house.
I just got mine a week or two ago for my spare room and I have not opened the cover in any way, but I am absolutely itchy when I sleep on it and afterwards, coughing. If this is the culprit it all makes sense now. I have had one for 3 almost 4 years and my mother bought one a year or two ago. Please add me.
